Hello everyone, if you read my last post you know that I was away last week in Newport, RI! It's a great place to visit and I highly suggest going away on vacation there. There's a lot of things to do everyday and you'll always have a good time! I've been going to Newport since I was in elementary school so if in the near future any of you decide to go I wanted to give you some suggestions of where to go!
First off Newport is full of "old money" because of all their mansions that were considered summer houses to the rich. I like the Breakers, which happens to be one of the most famous ones, and the Elms (I happen to live across the street from there). It does cost money to go to the many mansions in Newport but you can buy a bundle and visit a few of the places for much cheaper!
I didn't visit any of the mansions this year due to my mother and sister not feeling well on the trip but it's always beautiful and amazing whenever I've gone before. When you go through the different rooms you almost feel as if you're royalty! I don't believe I have any pictures of the mansions I've been in. I know I did take pictures a couple of years ago but I don't know where I put them :(
My next suggestion to go to the Tennis Hall of Fame! It's located right in the middle of Newport and it's really cool! You do have to pay to get in but I was able to get in for free a few years ago because I was under 16 at the time. Since the last time I was in there they have renovated the space and I've heard it looks amazing. When we were there last week they have some type of championship going on and even and Alex and Ani fashion show that was held. It was a little expensive and most of the events were sold out so that was disappointing.
Another great place to go to is the Brick Market place! It has different restaurants and stores to go to and it's a lot of fun. I went a couple of times with family and friends and although I go every year I still get excited. I will warn you though some of stores are quite expensive since it is very touristy but you can always find good deals. And if you wander around enough you can find some cool activities to do!
In Newport there's a ton of beaches (due to Newport being an island) so you can always soak up the sun and cool down in the ocean. But if you're like me and you absolutely hate crowded beaches there are a few hidden beaches you can find.
Also there's this great thing called the Cliff Walk and like the name suggests you're pretty much walking on a cliff. There's a paved path that you follow and it seems to go on forever. Like seriously....I don't think I've ever finished it! When you're walking there's places to stop to take pictures, benches to take a break at, you can look down at the ocean, and even see the backyards of some of the mansions!
Overall there's so many great things you can do in Newport and if you get the chance just explore! You're bound to find something you'll fall in love with!
Now that I've told you some of the great attractions here are some pictures that I took when I went exploring!

This is the Elms! Like I said earlier I live right across from this place so I got to see this when I woke up every morning!
I was down at the Brick Market place and while we were walking I took this picture! I believe this is Newport's Yacht Club!
I was beginning to walk on the Cliff Walk and I thought this was pretty!
Another picture I took while I was on the Cliff Walk! You can actually go down to the rocks, but you have to be super careful or else you'll fall in!
This is just a fun little reminder to stay on the path because you can get seriously hurt if you're not careful!
If you follow me on instagram you'll know I already posted theses there. I wish I took more but I wasn't able to get out a lot. I'll be going to Cape Cod in a few weeks so I'll try to take a lot when I'm there!
