Hello! So I'm taking a small study break to write this post ^^ I have my last two finals tomorrow and then I'm freeeeeeeeeeeee (well until September). But it's been so stressful trying to study and get things done. I have my friend's prom on Saturday and the dress situation has been a nightmare for me :( Luckily everything is squared away now! I'll be sure to make a post about the prom later next week! Now onto the actual challenge!
Today's challenge is to clean out your closet! I actually completed this challenge about a week or two ago so I didn't really have anything to take out, but I will tell you about the experience!!
So whenever a new season rolls around I always change my clothes for that season (aka winter and summer clothes). I normally go through everything and see what I have and give any clothes away to friends or family that don't fit me.
This year I've been slowly but surely taking clothes that I don't wear that often or that don't fit me and I've been putting them in plastic bags. After that all the clothes that I do keep I reorganize and make sure they're color coded and in alphabetical order (I'm such a nerd). I also do the same with all my clothes that are in drawers (there's another method I use for that) and make sure they're folded neatly.
Then I went through all the clothes with my mom and we decided what I wanted to give away to my friend (she's like a younger sister to me) and what I wanted to consign. Consigning is a great way to get money for your clothes and also buy clothes for cheap but are nice in quality!
There's a place my aunt showed me last year that I fell in love with and they have really nice clothes for young people and even for older adults! I actually found a cute pair of coach shoes that were barely even worn for like $20, it's amazing what you can find!
Anyways I told the girl that whatever didn't sell she could donate! I actually love donating my clothes because I learned a lot of places will take almost anything because even if something might be broken or old they can recycle it into something better for the kids!
So that's how I tackled this challenge! Tomorrow's challenge is taking a step towards a new skill! I'll see you all tomorrow ^^
