The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - How I Feel After The Challenge

Whoaaa so the minimalism challenge is over, I was actually able to finish this! I honestly thought that I would get lazy halfway through and just give up, and maybe even give up on this blog; but I prevailed! I'm so happy I was able to go through with this and now that it's over I feel a lot better about myself ^^

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 30

Hi everyone~ Today's the last challenge!!!! I'll be sure to make a post tomorrow about how I felt throughout this whole thing ^^ The last challenge was to evaluate your last five purchases! I'm pretty happy with myself because I haven't spent a lot of money! When I was thinking about what I got the last few things were either presents or my mom offered to pay for me ^^

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 29

Hi everyone~ Today's challenge is to turn off your notifications ^^ I depend on my phone a lot so turning it off was a little hard. If you're someone like me who uses their email a lot for work and business it will be tougher, because last minute things may come up.
28.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 28

Hi everyone~ Today's challenge is to let go of a goal! I was actually looking forward to this challenge because letting things go is hard for me. I'm normally the type of person who will think about something for ages or hold onto that one small shred of hope. But it is good to learn to let things go because you can't always control what will happen and it's healthier for you.

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 27

Hello~ Today's post is going to be a little short due to this challenge not being...well a challenge! I'm sure you've all caught on to my OCD'ness, so it shouldn't be a huge surprise that my junk drawer is clean! So my drawer isn't exactly a drawer it's a shelf in my nightstand. It goes pretty deep, so I'm able to put a lot of random junk in there.
26.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 26

Hello~ Today's challenge is to figure out what makes us stressed or what causes us to become stressed. I'm normally not a person who gets stressed easily and if I do get stress I can handle it pretty well. There have only been a few times when I felt like I was going crazy and it was most likely due to someone else doing something that bothered me.
25.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 25

Hi everyone, today's challenge is to leave a whole day unplanned! So I actually had part of day planned with my friends, but some of it didn't go the way I had in mind (none of it bad). I've been wanting to go rock climbing for a while now but I never wanted to go by myself, so I begged my friends to go. We finally went today and it was super exciting but before that I had to get ready.
24.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 24

Hiiiiiii ^^ So today's challenge is to practice gratitude(thankfulness) towards others and anything else in your life. Ever since I was young my parents have drilled this into my sister and I when we are with other people. I think it's something that is important to show/express because it makes others feel good and it makes you see nice and polite.

23.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 23

Hello everyone, today's challenge is to go bare-faced! So the norm is that most girls wear makeup, but I actually know a lot of guys that wear some too! It's very popular in Asia to wear BB Cream because it doesn't clog your pores, there's normally SPF in it, and some even help repair the skin ^^ Also concealer is your best friend if you have some pimples you want to cover up >.<

22.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 22

Hey everyone, today's challenge is to create a relaxing bedtime routine ^^ I'm not even in my twenties yet (or even older) and I already feel like an old lady that needs to go to bed at 8 every night. Most nights I go to sleep around midnight but if I'm talking to a friend(s) then it's much much later.
21.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 21

Hi! So today's challenge is to write in a journal for twenty minutes or more! I've tried to journal in the past and to be quite honest it's a little hard to keep up sometimes. You don't need to write in it everyday but the thought of sitting down and writing makes me tired. I personally prefer typing than writing since it's easier and I can jot my thoughts down faster.
Of course there are pro's and con's of writing and typing out your thoughts, and I know most people are wondering what their suppose to use if their going to type their thoughts out. Some would suggest using a word document, I personally wouldn't. It's a little weird to me so I have this cool app on my phone called Day One:

I believe if you have a Mac computer/laptop you can download this from the app store and it'll sync from your phone. The downside is this does cost money :(
I'm not sure how much it is on the phone because I got it for free through Starbucks but I know on the computer it's $9.99! It's a little expensive for a journal app but I really like it!
Anyways today I journaled about my family today and how my sister is coming home soon, so it was really nice. I like journaling once in a while because it helps me express emotions I don't always show or know how to express.
Well tomorrow's challenge is to create a relaxing bedtime routine!
-Jona

Question of the day: Do you prefer typing or writing?

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 20

Yooooooo~ I actually did this challenge !!! It was fairly easy since I don't actually watch TV very often, plus The Blacklist and Elementary had their season finales last week so even more of a reason not to watch anything! I don't know how most people are but I tend to watch my tv on the computer, Netflix is amazing (quite addicting too).
19.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 19

Hi guys! So this might be a short post since I didn't exactly do this challenge >.< I know how could I? Well to be perfectly honest I got super lazy today and didn't feel like doing it. Also today rained so I couldn't go outside for a walk or run; I was a little disappointed since it's been a few days since my last run.
18.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 18

Hey all! So today's challenge is to unfollow and unfriend people on social media~ Now I see most people these days follow a lot of people in hopes in getting a follow back, which to me is a bit ridiculous. Of course if you want to be sponsored your follower count is very important to the stores. It's understandable if you obsess a lot over it, but it's not the end of the world.
On tumblr it seems like everyone wants to know each other's follower count because they want to know who is the most popular. I've also noticed that a lot of bloggers refuse to tell people the actual number, they either tell them to come off anon or they give them x's (example: x,xxx). The need to be the best and the most popular is getting a bit out of hand and it's to the point where bloggers don't even want to unfollow people in case they get unfollowed back.
I personally don't see it as a big deal if I lose a few followers, of course if I see my numbers go down a lot I get a little sad and wonder why they left but then I tell myself that blogging is just for fun. But I try to keep my follower count up because I am in a few sponsorships with a few stores so I can't let them down.
On tumblr I follow 112 people, which isn't that much considering most people I know follow 300+ people. The highest I've ever followed was around 200 blogs and that was too much for me. I also changed my blog theme and so certain people didn't pertain to my blog anymore.
I didn't unfollow anyone on tumblr because I check two or three times a week to see how long it's been since someone has updated their blog. I don't want to follow someone who's been away for over a month. I also just want to follow my friends mainly, I find that they're much more important and I rather see what they're posting and reblogging than some stranger.
Then of course there's the "I don't want to break my mutual!! What if they think I hate them?" I say just let them know you're unfollowing but it's because they don't have the same theme as you. You do have the option of saying nothing but if it's a mutual that you talk to you might just want to let them know.
Okay so basically I didn't unfollow or unfriend anyone on most of my social media because I always clean out the people I don't really know. My policy is be friends/follow people who you care about and want them to know what's going on in your life.
On Facebook I was probably friends with over 700-1000 people! No one knows that many people personally, if you say you do then there might be something wrong... or you're just a reaaaaally friendly person!  But in the past year I went down to 250 friends to now 236 friends. It doesn't really matter what age your at sometimes people want to show off how many people they know. I personally only want to share certain things with the people I've known for a while.
It does seem weird that I'm sharing my life with you guys on here but I see it a bit differently.... It's a little hard to explain >.<
Anyways I hope you enjoyed this post! Tomorrow's challenge is to go for a walk and practice mindfulness!
-Jona

Question of the day: How many friends do you have on Facebook?
17.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge -Day 17

Hi! So after the last post I literally passed out and then I woke up around 8PM >.< I'm still really tired from prom but I feel a little bit better now that I got some rest. For this challenge I honestly didn't do much to begin with so I guess it's fairly easy? I'm so sorry that the last few challenges have been really lame to read >.<
So I'm not that great at multitasking as it is and I prefer single-tasking anyways. I normally write down the main things I need to get done for either the day or week. Once I know what I need to do I take one step at a time, for example today I did the dishes and normally while I put away my dishes I make food or a drink for myself. Today I focused on getting the dishes in the dishwasher and then when I was done I made myself a smoothie.
I know that example was on the smaller scale of things but I hope you get the point ^^
Of course like I said earlier I'm SUPER sorry that the last few posts have been short but I promise that I will get back on track starting tomorrow! Have a great day/night wherever you live :)
Tomorrow's challenge is to unfollow and unfriend!
-Jona

Question of the day: How busy do your days get?

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 16

Hi! I know this challenge was for yesterday.....but it's been such a busy week/weekend I haven't been able to have a regular schedule. I actually went to my friend's prom yesterday so I was busy all day getting ready for that. I ended up sleeping at my friend's house with a bunch of other people and I had no access to my laptop to write anything.
15.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 15

Hi! I know the last post was super lame so I'm going to try and make it up in this post! Today's challenge is to examine our daily habits ^^ I actually notice a lot of my habits because I'm very particular about how I do things. I'm pretty sure I'm a little OCD >.<
So in the morning when I wake up I always turn on my phone immediately to see if I have any new messages, then I take a sip from my water bottle and then go to the bathroom. I tend to go back into bed for another 30-40 minutes to play on my phone until I tell myself that i need to get a life. When I say that to myself it sort of motivates me (I'm not sure why LOL). After that I do some small exercises to wake myself up some more.
For breakfast I either eat a granola bar or I make myself a smoothie ^^ I always put coconut yogurt (I think that's what it's called it's dairy free), 4-5 ice cubes, 4 strawberries, 10-15 blueberries, half a banana, and a little bit of apple juice to make my smoothie. For some reason I always make sure I put the same amount in there each time. If I don't it feels weird to me... The taste is pretty much the same but it just doesn't feel right >.<
After that I sort of just let my day go by and I relax and play on the computer until I feel the need to go for a run. I noticed I normally go running between 3pm-5pm because that's when I'm most sleepy during the day. If I run during that time it wakes me up and then I won't fall asleep and not be able to sleep later in the night.
Afterwards I just chill out and I might eat dinner (it depends on how much I ate for lunch) and I'll talk to my parents about how the day went. Then between 6pm-7pm I take my shower because my dad has to go to bed early because of work and I don't want the shower to disturb him.
I tend to go on tumblr after my shower and I'll stay on until I feel sleepy and then I go to sleep.
So this is what I noticed I do throughout my day. This is really what happens to me on a daily basis and it rarely ever changes to be honest. I like to know my schedule ahead of time so I'm not surprised later on.
I hope you enjoyed this post ^^ Tomorrow's challenge is to not buy anything for 24 hours!
-Jona

Question of the day: What is the weirdest habit you have?

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 14

okokokokokok I was suppose to post this last night but I was tired and I completely forgot....Plus I watched the season finales of The Blacklist and Elementary..... The feels are too real T.T
So I didn't actually do this challenge because my day was a little busy with my last two finals and I got home later than usual.
I feel bad about not doing this challenge but to kind of make up for it I'll tell you guys about my day! Today's the official first day of my summer vacation and I'm already getting into my lazy habits (fight the laziness!!!!). I haven't done my squats, ab workout, or my daily run..... I'll get to that in a few hours. But I did have a bit of a busy day because tomorrow is my friend's prom so I had to go get my nails done!
I decided to go gel because it drys faster and it tends to last longer ^^ The people I go to are amazing and they're so nice! It's so much fun talking to them because they're always so happy when I go in and it's very affordable. The girl who did my nails today actually wore the same cardigan as me but in blue :)
Then right after I got my nails done my mom and I zoomed out of there so I could go get my eyes checked out. Luckily they didn't put anything in my eyes because I hate it when people are near my face... It's so freaky!!!!
Afterwards I went to my grandparents for lunch and we were there for a few hours and it was really nice to just relax and talk to them! I showed them my dress and we talked about some plans for the summer and a few restaurants we want to try.
So I'm probably going to go for my run soon and I'll write my next challenge for today in a couple of hours. Sorry that for the lack of post >.<
-Jona

Question of the day: What's your favorite way to relax?
13.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 13

Hello! So I'm taking a small study break to write this post ^^ I have my last two finals tomorrow and then I'm freeeeeeeeeeeee (well until September). But it's been so stressful trying to study and get things done. I have my friend's prom on Saturday and the dress situation has been a nightmare for me :( Luckily everything is squared away now! I'll be sure to make a post about the prom later next week! Now onto the actual challenge!
12.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 12

OMG !!! So I actually completely forgot about writing this post because I've been laying in bed watching buzzfeed videos >.< I have less than an hour to write this and then the day will be gone oops! Today's challenge is to define our goals for this year.
This sort of reminds me when you make goals or resolutions for New Year, you say what you want to do but you don't break it down. I find when making a goal I need to make them into smaller goals that way it's easier to achieve and it doesn't seem overwhelming.
So here are my top five goals and my break down of how I want to achieve them:

  1. Get in shape - It doesn't mean have flat abs and super toned legs. It means start feeling good about myself and feel better and have more energy.
    1. Work out 4-5 times out of 7 days a week (whether it be 20 minutes or an hour)
    2. Try and drink more water and tea
    3. Have a work out buddy or friends/family who will encourage me
    4. Look at what I'm eating and make small changes
  2. Study more - I don't have to study for six hours straight but enough where I can have better knowledge in a subject
    1. Leave the house and go to the library
    2. Find a quiet place where I won't have too many distractions
    3. Study for at least an hour per subject
  3. Meet new people - It doesn't have to be for a relationship just have a new friend
    1. Get out more with my other friends to meet their friends
    2. Go online and see if other people have the same interests
    3. Meet people through family
  4. Less social media - Still go on it daily but not be glued to it for hours
    1. Learn how to put my phone and laptop down
    2. Distract myself with fun activities
    3. Read a book or solve puzzles
  5. Organize myself - not only with material goods but all scheduling
    1. Buy folders to put away all my papers
    2. Clean up after myself
    3. Have a daily planner with me
So those are my goals, how I defined them, and how I want to achieve them! I hope that if you do this your goals will look a lot easier for you!
Tomorrow's challenge is to clean out our closets!
-Jona

Question of the day: What's one goal you have?

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 11

Hey everyone! Today's post is going to another short one >.< I just took my two finals for my online classes, now I have three more I have to take on Wednesday and Thursday (wish me luck!). So the challenge we have is to evaluate out commitments.
10.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 10

Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there! Today was super nice being able to chill out with my family (I rarely see my extended family). So I hope you al had a great day pampering your mom ^^ Anyways today's challenge is no email or social media until lunch time!
9.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 9

Hi everyone~~ Today's post is going to be a little short (due to my laziness) so I'm sorry in advance. The challenge for today is to downsize our beauty collection. I'm not sure how it is for guys but I'm sure a lot of girls have too many products they've collected over the years and haven't found the time to throw it away. In my case I'm lazy (as always) and don't feel like walking two feet to the trash can.
8.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 8

Hello, so today's challenge was to learn to enjoy solitude ^^ To be honest I enjoy being by myself and I don't go out a lot with my friends unless they ask. In my early years of high school I rarely left my house on the weekends because I figured that I saw my friends all week and that I didn't need to see them on the weekend. Also my parents are pretty chill and I like hanging out with them and talking to them.
7.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 7

Hello everyone! I know this is being posted a little late but today was the last day of actual classes (Finals are next week) and I had to finish all my assignments before midnight. Plus I HAD to watch The Blacklist and Elementary since those are my two favorite shows AND the season finales are next week! But enough about that, today's (Or tonight's) challenge is to streamline our reading list.
6.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 6

HEYOOOOOO! So today was a pretty good day; I went to the library and studied for around three hours and I got my paycheck! But anyways today's challenge is to follow a morning ritual! Most mornings I do follow ritual or schedule that I have ^^
5.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 5

Hello lovelies! I'm actually extremely tired because I've been in classes all day and my final exams are next week. But I told myself I had to post something since I am on a challenge after all! So today's challenge is to identify your three to six main priorities, which isn't too hard because it's not like you're doing anything physically!
4.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 4

Hey all, so today's the fourth day of the minimalism challenge! Today it's no-complaint day, now I know most of us never complain (riiiiiiiight?) so it should be totally easy! I honestly try not to complain because it gets on my parents nerves and they have enough to deal with in their lives. And when I do complain it's because I'm either hungry or tired and have had enough.
3.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 3

Hello everyone, today is the third day of the minimalism challenge! So today we're focusing on decluttering out digital lives. Today's challenge is relatively easy for me because I don't like having clutter on my phone and computer to begin with so there wasn't much to get rid of in the first place.
2.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 2

Hey there! So today is day two of the minimalism challenge and I have to tell you it was sort of rough! Here's a picture of all the days just to remind you:
1.5.15

The 30-Day Minimalism Challenge - Day 1

Hi everyone, so my first "real" post will be about this 30-day minimalism challenge I happened to see on tumblr one day. I was just scrolling down on my dashboard and I saw this and thought it was a really good idea. Some challenges that I've come across seem like they're asking a lot of you but this one in particular is something I thought I could handle.

I'M BACK!!!!

After a fews months I decided to come back! I still have my makeup blog on tumblr although it's not always in use (I'm in my first year of college so I'm quite busy). But I decided that I would use this blog not really for makeup but for exercising and for my eating habits.
